Two young pupils in Sarisbury announced the weather to thousands of listeners across the south this morning.
Olivia Ditchburn and Lily Harrington giggled as they told BBC Radio Solent listeners what the weather had in store for today during the breakfast show this morning (May 17).
The seven-year-olds each took their turn to speak on the phone to presenter Julian Clegg during the Cool School slot broadcasting it was going to be 11C or 51F.
“It was great but funny,” said Lily. “They asked us what’s the weather and we told them. I said it’s going to be breezy and sunny.”
Olivia added: “I was just giggling.”
Their teacher Gemma Fanstone said she spoke to the radio presenter first to tell them about their recent pet week, where pupils brought in a whole host of animals, including rabbits and guinea pigs – while one child brought a horse and another a duck.
“It’s exciting for the girls to be on the radio because they’re chatty on the radio and they like science,” she said.
