Whiteley shopping centre was preparing for the first of its normal shopping days today (May 24) after thousands of people packed in for the first day fun.
We captured a lot of the fun and antics during the first day at the new shopping centre which was packed with people looking for opening day bargains and sale items.

The gusting winds that were an unwelcome feature of the old, now demolished, shopping centre paid an opening day visit which meant the main attraction of mid-air gymnastics and a floating heliosphere could not be used.
But the team from Wave 105 did their best to build the excitement for the event and run the countdown to the formal opening.
TV personality and Strictly Come Dancing star Denise Van Outen was the special guest for the opening of the Mamas and Papas store and, after reading from the book she wrote when she was pregnant three years ago she was happy to answer questions and pose for photographs with visitors.

But from today the centre will be getting into its normal routine. Traffic to and from the £84m shopping centre is still likely to be
heavy in the initial few days – there were significant traffic delays throughout the area on the first day – but is not likely to be on the scale of the opening day.
Shops, restaurant and coffee bars were all due to be opening at their normal times today and throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.
Shopping centre manager Neil Carter said he looked forward to welcoming those people who weren’t able to make it on the opening day.
“There is lots going on throughout the Bank Holiday weekend and we look forward to welcoming everyone,” he said.
