Scores of snow sculptures were created at Park Gate Primary School as children got creative in the winter weather.

The field at the school in Northmore Road was covered in tall, round snowmen, which the pupils got to build.

Some unique sculptures were popular at the school, including a seal, polar bears and a snowman with a six-pack stomach.

Ben Andrews, 11, who helped build the body-builder style snow figure said: “We chose to do a man with a six-pack to show how strong he was.”

Abbie Allbon, 10, helped create a snow woman, which had eyelashes, a big smile and a ribbon on one of its stick arms.

“I loved it because we did it for ages,” she said. “At break time we were doing it for a long time. We were allowed to raid the art cupboard to see what we could use on it.”

Head teacher Rebecca Kingsland said: “We’ve had a fantastic time and it was lovely to get the children out there.” Annie Keith and Abbie Allbon with a beautiful snow woman A snowman with a six-pack by Max Smith, Ben Andrews, Josh Bishop and Louis Williams Hannah Stream, Angel Hunt, Amy Marsden, Lucy Carter and Grace Cooper create a snow seal
