Locks Heath were held to a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to Aldermaston at the weekend – but the slip-up should not be too much of a dent in their championship hopes.
Although it was a precious two points dropped the destiny of the Hampshire Premier League title is still in their own hands – although the last match of the season against their nearest rivals Stoneham could be the crucial game in the run-in.
Both AFC Stoneham and Colden Common who are chasing Locks Heath from a long way back won away at the weekend.
That leaves Locks 20 points clear of Stoneham, who have six games in hand, while Common are now 25 points adrift but with eight games in hand. So that final game of the season looks huge.
At the weekend Ryan Lock struck for the 35th time in the league this season while Ashley Tattersall continued his rich vein of form with the other two goals, taking his tally to 10 in 17 games.
While for Aldermaston, Dexter Skipp scored a brace and Liam Tackley scored in the draw.
